PhD fellowship on rotating quantum turbulence at Institut Néel (Grenoble, France) – deadline 16 March 2026
We invite all students interested in the hydrodynamics of superfluid helium to apply for a unique PhD fellowship offered within the Quantum Grenoble Doctoral Programme. The call aims to recruit the best PhD candidates to pursue original research in quantum science and technologies and hence contribute to the vibrant scientific community in Grenoble, supported by Université Grenoble Alpes and a number of national research institutes.
Among several projects offered, we highlight the opportunity to join Dr Mathieu Gibert and Dr Patrik Svancara at Institut Néel. The PhD candidate will work with CryoLEM, a one-of-a-kind cryogenic apparatus capable of directly visualising quantum vortices in rotating superfluid helium. More information is provided in the project description.
Selection criteria and the application process is detailed on the call website. Since the project will be financed via the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) COFUND programme, the applicants must meet MSCA mobility rules (not have resided or carried out their main activity in France for more than 12 months between 15 March 2023 and 16 March 2026).
We recommend all interested candidates to contact us directly (mathieu.gibert@neel.cnrs.fr, patrik.svancara@neel.cnrs.fr), to discuss the project’s specifics and the application procedure.
